Proper Oils will be helping the people of Croydon save money through recycling used cooking oil

The London borough of Croydon will soon be saving up a lot on its diesel as the Croydon Council partners with Proper Oils, a company that collects used cooking oil from organizations in London and converts it into biodiesel for free.

Croydon’s free environmental business support program Envibe (Environmental Business Excellence) encourages businesses to dispose of waste in a responsible manner, recycling waste wherever possible. Envibe, a support group for businesses that want to save the environment, is a staunch believer in recycling waste. According to Envibe, pouring down oil on sinks can cause blockages and future expenses as opposed to having used cooking oil collected and converted to biodiesel for free.

Aside from helping the environment through proper disposal of cooking oil, businesses can save up to £200 annually by having their used oil converted into biodiesel by Proper Oils for free.

Proper Oils said the benefits of its business include reducing pollution and congestion upon collection of the used cooking oils; providing local jobs; keeping the money circulating within the local community; minimizing environmental footprint; costing out the environmental benefits of refining biodiesel locally; and returning a proportion of its profits to support local environmental initiatives.

Proper Oils has already been featured on the BBC News, ITV’s London Tonight, Channel 4 News, and CNBC World Business. For your own free used oil collection, call Proper Oils at 0845 470 8091 or email freecollections@properoils.co.uk.
