Solar panels and products maker ICP Solar Technologies Inc. has signed a global licensing agreement with batteries market leader Energizer, granting it rights to Energizer’s trade name for solar-powered chargers and related products.

Aiming at the demand for renewable portable power, ICP Solar and Energizer will be releasing “Energizer”-branded solar chargers that will be sold in tandem with rechargeable batteries. ICP Solar’s licensing agreement with Energizer will run for three years and will take effect immediately.

ICP Solar, created in 1988, is a developer, manufacturer, and marketer of solar panels, solar cell-based products, solar monitoring software, and solar power management solutions.

In April, Montreal, Canada-based ICP Solar said it was extending its licensing agreement with outdoor equipments company Coleman for its own solar-powered chargers, also by three years.

ICP Solar CEO Sass Peress said they will begin rolling out products in North America as soon as the third quarter of 2009.

ICP Solar’s shares were up 26.67% as of yesterday’s closing to trade at $0.152 apiece at the OTCBB.
