Gamesa presents prototype Gamesa G10x-4.5

Gamesa Corporacion Tecnologica has presented the first prototype Gamesa G10x-4.5 product platform. The Gamesa G10x-4.5 MW was presented at the Cabexo Negro R&D wind farm located in the Jaulin local authority, in the Spanish province of Saragossa.

The prototype has already fed the grid with its first kilowatt and has recently generated 50 MWe in a day, the greatest amount ever generated by a Gamesa wind turbine.

The Gamesa G10X - 4.5 MW wind turbine has a unitary power output equivalent to the annual consumption of more than 3,000 homes, a rotor diameter of 128 meters and blades measuring more than 60 meters long. The tower has a height of 120 meters and is made of concrete and steel.

Gamesa designed the turbines’ modular design, which will allow the cost of energy to be minimized through the use of a similar kind of transport and installation equipment used for smaller wind turbines.
